Corn does a lot of work with teachers all over the globe. A lot of people already know this about me-but while Corn is hanging out in Singapore and LA in schools, I’m working with teachers and kids here in NYC.
It’s been a while since I’ve revisited Corn’s first book, We Got This: Equity, Access, and the Quest to Be Who Our Students Need Us to Be. In fact, the last time I looked at it was while it was in draft mode in the abyss of his Google Drive.
As of late, while working with lots of local teachers, kids, and administrators, this kind of work never gets easier…developing inclusive practices, initiating teaching inquiry, supporting racial literacy..it’s all pushing water up a hill.
Sooo…We still have two boxes of We Got This. in our office. A few weeks ago, I picked a book up and started reading. HOLY SMOKES. Have you all SEEN THE LEARNING TOOLS??? I knew my husband was brilliant, but DAMN.
If you find yourself pushing water up a hill in your classroom, your school, your institution…check these very handy thinking sheets, and you’ll find containers of Corn’s mind right there with you while you work your way up. Check them out via Heinemann’s website here.
